Commitment Ceremony

I recently shot a commitment ceremony for 2 pretty funny, yet amazing men. I actually was filling in for another photographer friend of  mine, but the photos  turned out pretty amazing...and they were happy with them. Here are a few!

Ok, so on the day of Dawson's photo shoot I did snap a few of Kyley as well. She looks so pure and innocent (which was kind of what my friend was going for with her assignment which was to describe the color white)

OK, just a little background information here. My friend, who happens to be a photography student, needed to borrow my middle daughter Kyley for a photo shoot. So I took her to a location that I thought would work great for her assignment. While we were there I figured I would grab a few pics of Dawson as well. BOY, am I happy I did. I got some AMAZING pics of my little man. I also snapped a few of them together. So here they are....enjoy! Just a little side note as well. Dawson DID NOT want to get his pics done this day. BUT dang did he do a GREAT job!

(This was our 1st  shot. I told him to get up there and look COOL!)  I think he accomplished that. lol

This was staged by the photography student...and I had to get in on the action. lol

Spring Break at the Studio

The kids were on spring break last week and we had a friend over, so we thought it would be a good opportunity to get into the studio and get some shots for my website...and the kids wanted a modeling shoot too.

Well with the backdrops anyway....but I have to go over and spend another half day cleaning up the mess we made, and then decide on the "art" that I plan on hanging on the walls. And I need to get my seating and all that jazz in there. I am searching craigslist for tables and stuff for my "office" space...which I think I am going to turn into a sort of lounge/playroom.

So...here they are...backdrops up and ready to go. SO CALL ME! lol

Day from HELL!!

WHAT A DAY!!! Today was a day from hell, between the kids acting out (mostly out of boredom) and then NOTHING seeming to go right. I have the BIGGEST headache! So....we are no further in the studio than we were yesterday. The ceilings in the studio are concrete (which we suspected and prepared for), but there was nothing going through it. So, we had to readjust our plans and we are now making freestanding backdrop supports. So, the day was spent with nothing to really show for it other than a headache.

On a plus note though I was able to get a few pics of a little man. So here are a few to see. These are RAW images and still need a bit of editing done.






So...looks like my supports won't be finished until next weekend. UGH! But that's ok because I really won't be needing them much this week with the upcoming surgery.

Day at the Studio

Well today our day was spent mostly at the studio. Kyley and I went and cleaned it all up this morning. There was about 2 inches of dirt on the windows, after cleaning it the lighting was amazing. I really can't wait to take some pics in there.

After we were done cleaning we met the boys back at home and took over most of my backdrops, props and stands. However, we realized that my backdrop stands weren't really going to work out all that great. So Matt had a great idea to suspend them from the ceiling to open up most floor/posing space. So...we made a trip to Lowe's and get everything that we would need for that project and tomorrow morning we will head over to get that all set up. And then I will be taking some pics. YAY! My cousin is bringing her little man over a guinea pig so that I can get all my lighting set up and all that. Because my kids are now TRUE photographer's children, everytime they see the camera they cringe. lol. How nice!

Anyway, that's the update from the studio. Look for new pictures tomorrow. Pics of the studio itself as well as some "model" pics. I wonder if I can get my children to cooperate tomorrow. lol

It's MINE!

I am now officially leasing studio space. I picked up the keys this morning and then went right over to take some pics. Mind you these are BARE pics...I have done NOTHING to the studio yet at all.
